Hi, my Newglam sisters…
I’m going to try to keep this post PG-13, especially as it’s something I feel very strongly about… but can we please take a moment to think about stuff like this?

Yeah.
Now, I started my own blog, a rather confused (at the time) mixture of street style and couture, as a labour of love… and I count my lucky stars every day that my work was noticed and I was asked to be part of Newglam and later Newvogue. And my focus with each blog was to bring together a collection of images that would inspire myself and others. I didn’t give a single thought to the financial or social status of any of our followers.
And here’s the thing. I don’t care whether you’re wealthy or not. I’ve been through comfortable times and times that were… less than comfortable, and I’m living proof that you CAN follow fashion on a shoestring budget. You just have to get creative. Think outside the box. Be patient. Wait for the perfect item to arrive in the store at the perfect price, rather than making impulse purchases that eat into your utility bill budget.
I like to think of these blogs as being here for all our followers, whether you:
1) Come from a wealthy family and/or earn an impressive salary, and can afford everything of the best;
2) Design and make your own clothes and are looking for inspiration;
3) Are one of those eagle-eyed shoppers always on the lookout for a bargain and need to stay up to date with what’s current.
Whoever you are, whatever you’re looking for… personally, I see you all as equals here. We’re drawn here by a common interest - our love of fashion. As my hope is that each one of you will find something to inspire you on our blogs, elitism and snobbery have no place here. Call me weird… but I don’t look at a person and see their salary floating above their heads in giant neon numbers - I see the person. Radical, I know. And NONE of you are unworthy.

(Photos alone aren’t the issue. It’s mainly the language used in these posts that is so dehumanising. Reposts to Newglam and Newvogue from blogs that feature similar content will be deleted, as these are not the ideas we wish to promote.)
I got my heart broken and I survived, I failed 3 courses in university and graduated, I got rejected in the very first job I applied for and got promoted yesterday, I went through hard times with my family but then two years later, we laughed our hearts out over lunch, The closest friends disappointed me several times but I made new friends and loved them with all my heart. I did it once, I can do it again.
